The Shadow of Yesterday
As the game's blurb puts it:
- The Shadow of Yesterday is pulpy romantic sword-and-sorcery at the end of one world and the beginning of the next. This game melds the best of standard fantasy role-playing and a hard-charging narrative engine.
- Set in a post-apocalyptic fantasy world where the creation of a moon has ravaged cultures and thrown the fate of the earth into question, TSOY is like a Weird Tales contribution written by Emily Bronte.
This will be a player-led game. I intend that we spend the first week collaboratively deciding on characters and which bit of the setting we'll be playing in. If you want to find out more about the game, the rules are freely available online.

Babylon 5: The Fiery Trial
A meeting place for humans and aliens, Babylon 5 is open for business. Hundreds of travelers pass through it's docking bays every day, and you are no different. Or are you...
Using the 2nd Ed. d20 ruleset, the plot covers the entire year (and the first season of the show), and the characters will find themselves thrust into a race against time to gather the remnants of vital information before it is destroyed by an ancient and implacable enemy...

Rise Of The X-Gen
It has been five years since the event known as the "Global Blackout". Five years since that fateful day, February 29th 2004, when the Earth was plunged into total darkness for three seconds. Three seconds when every light on Earth, artificial or natural, went dark. Three seconds when even the light of the sun could not be seen.
Three seconds of total, unnatural, darkness that, even now, still has yet to be explained.
Five years down the line, the "Global Blackout" is still as mystifying to science as it ever was. But, to the average man in the street, the mystery isn't really all that important. There were no disasters, plagues, revolutions or great changes to the status quo brought about by the event. Nothing changed.
Except, perhaps, for one thing.
They began shortly after the blackout. Whispered rumours. Things heard on the grapevine. Blurry images on conspiracy websites. Claims of half-glimpses in the more disreputable newspapers and magazines. Urban myths. Legends. Tall tales.
Shapeshifters, mind readers, flying men. Invisible spies, phantasms and mediums. Rumours of people with gifts beyond mortal comprehension, and darker rumours of governments covering up the greatest secret of all time.
All nonsense of course. You've been reading these stories for five years, and not so much as a shred of evidence has ever been produced. Five years down the road from the "Global Blackout", and nothing has changed.
If only you could get rid of the strange buzzing sound in the back of your mind, almost like a tumultuous cacophony of tiny indistinct voices, that you've been hearing recently ...
I envisage the game as an early X-Men style game, with some X-Files and Heroes thrown into the recipe for good measure, as people with newly discovered strange talents pit themselves against the merciless might of a government conspiracy dedicated to covering-up and controlling those with paranormal abilities. This is not a single eight-week plot - this collects all four pulse-pounding issues of the mini-series that launched the X-Gen universe!
Rise Of The X-Gen is a Mutants & Masterminds game for 3-5 players. It was going to be Wild Talents, but it's still not out yet :( Oh, well.

The Children's Hour
A game inspired by classic children's dramas, such as:
Please feel free to add your own favourites & inspirations to the above list
Using the Little Fears system, the group will endeavour to create the greatest children's drama serial never made, after the fashion of Primetime Adventures. This will be a serious drama about the issues children face as they grow up, blended with spooky & mysterious goings on which often act as metaphors for the world of adulthood.
Consider these questions about the setting:
- Where & when does it take place? Is it contemporary, historical or a mix of periods?
- Who are the children? Family, freinds, newcomers, enemies?
- Who are the adults and which ones can be trusted?
- What spookiness draws the children into the adventure? Their own gifts or something external? Are the overtones those of science-fiction or the supernatural?
There are also three scores the system keeps track of which will considered, namely Innocence, Soul & Fear:
- What is Innocence? What does it do for a child who has it and how is it lost?
- What does your Soul mean to you? Are you aware of it? Is it valued by others? Can it be taken from you and can you get it back?
- What do you Fear? What happens to a child who lives in Fear and can they escape from the situation?
